btw, it looks like you can adjust the html of the pages during album generation...that could be a real time saver!
nice little program...glad you mentioned it.
| Thanks. The files are actually quite small when generated by ET. I was
| surprised. AAMOF, as small or smaller as when I resize originals in PSP if
| inserting on web in usual way. I guess I will just copy all of them to
| folder in Web and insert the index.html it created. I had hoped for an
| easier way... I looked at JAlbum but decided on buying this one.
|
| As for as all the many pages created, they are all in one folder, so easy to
| find and delete when I delete the album from the web, which I will do in a
| few mos. Using ET is just easier for the visitors to the web site instead
| of using Thumbnails created in FP and having to use back button between each
| photo ...... Millie

| wrote in message | I didn't play with it too much. You may have files that are too big (image
| files) to import. Try optimizing them a little and/or bring a few in at a
| time.
|
| The process of moving them with explorer may mess up the links when you
| publish...try recalc hyperlinks first before publishing if you go that
| route.
|
| You may want to look at JAlbum too,,,it's got a lot of skins created by
| loyal followers. I've used it and it's pretty cool (it's also free), in fact
| I was able to customize it so you can't really tell the album is seperate
| from the website (it took some time to do this

|
| The only thing I don't like about most of these albums is they create a
| zillion pages, one for each full size image...kinda messy imo.

|
| | | I first tried importing the whole folder and that would not work (the
| folder
| | created itself but the files would not come in and I got the error
| message).
| | I deleted that folder and then created a folder in my web and tried to
| | import just the files of the folder in. Got same message. Then tried to
| | import just a few and then realized the html files will import but not the
| | jpgs.
| |
| | The only way I can really get this to work is to copy the whole folder
| | (using Explorer) to the root of my web on the local machine. Then I can
| | insert the index.htm of the Express folder and it works. But that is a two
| | step process and I want to be able just to do File/Import and do the whole
| | thing at once without a two step process.
| |
| | I really like this program but wish there were more information re the
| | different choices in the setup. I also wish I could put text at top of a
| | photo instead of on bottom (not the thumbnail but the full size
| | photo........ Millie

| | wrote in message | | Yah,,,works great. I just tried it. Just have to figure out how to
| generate
| | the index (up) up button.
| |
| | Create your album into a known folder outside of FP
| | With FP, make sure your web is open on your local machine.
| | Create a new folder.
| | Import the album folder into the newly created folder -OR- just import the
| | *all* generated files into the folder you created in FP.
| |
| | You'll have to link your album's index page...and maybe create all those
| Up
| | buttons on each generated page (maybe).
| |
| | Save & Publish. (maybe throw in a Recalculate Hyperlinks for good measure.
| |
| | I'm using FP2002, but see no reason why it wouldn't work in 00.
| |
| |
| | | | | Using FP 2000. I am using Express Thumbnail Creator to create a gallery
| | for
| | | the church web site. I cannot seem to import the folder and its files
| into
| | | FP. Get an error message--An error occurred accessing your Front Page
| web
| | | files. I did this once before with no problem but now cannot.
| | | Anyone else use this program?.... Millie
