Exporting public folders in outlook

If I attempt to export a folder under Public Folders as
anything other than .pst (excel or csv, for example), it
will not even give me that option (it will only list the
local outlook folder list under the 'select a folder to
export from:'). Does anyone know the reason for this? Is
it just not doable or is there another method? Thanks, in

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

Copy the data to a folder in your mailbox or a .pst file, then export from
the copied folder. Or use one of the tools listed at
http://www.outlookcode.com/d/customimport.htm#tools
