Exporting high resolution chart and bug

I would like to copy excel charts into photoshop. Copy
and paste works but I get a low resolution chart. Is
there a way to make excel charts high resolution. I
already tried using an add-on referenced in one of the
previous posting that allows me to export the chart as a
tif but it was still low res. I know it can be done
because it can be done on my friends Mac--it was just
copy and pasted.

Also I think there is a bug in my version of excel (the
one that came with office XP) The y-axis label gets
truncated by one character and when I click on the label
to edit the text only half of it is visible.

If anyone has any advice for either of my issues I would
greatly appreciate it.

Mike,
Seems we have a similar problem.
Check my post "Export Chart in Vector Format".
If we manage to export the chart in vector,
then we have no problem importing it anywhere.

I think I found a way to get around:
1. Print the chart TO FILE using a color postscript driver.
2. Import the file in a vector application such as
CorelDraw or Illustrator.
3. Size it as you please and export to tiff.

My only problem is I have no idea which is a good and
compatible color postscript driver to install.

If you find a suitable one, kindly message back.

I use an HP 8500 Color Laser Jet PS driver, and have had
good results when making PDF's.

You can copy the chart as a picture in Excel: hold down Shift while
selecting Copy Picture from the Edit menu. Select the On Screen options
and As Picture, which means as a windows metafile, complete with all the
drawing objects which make up the chart. Now it can be pasted in as a
vector format image.

Dear Jon, Eric and Mike,

Thanks Jon and Eric for the cool tips.
Only problem with Jon's tip is that I still get a SMALL
PART of the vector info into CorelDRAW. However, I tried
pasting into Powerpoint and it worked. So, I guess it has
something to do with the Corel wmf or emf filter.

The workaround through printing in a postscript file works
much better with the tip of Eric for using HP LaserJet
Color 8500 PS, if you finetune the postscript options.
