I have a tabular word file ( table is 2 columns and rows making the document
16 pages long). Now i want to search the Word document for any occurance of a
specific word (eg. data) and for all the occurances of that word(data) the
cell in which 'data' was found should get exported to a cell in an excel
workbook. Just want to know if there is any way i could do this.

you'd definitely need a macro. The various bits and pieces (doing a "Find" in
the whole document; connecting to Excel) are described in articles on the
word.mpvs.org website.
