I have tried to export some details from my email account to an Excel file,
the sender details, subject line and the date received. However, I just
cannot get the date recd field when i try to map the export.
It does not show up in the popup options.

I am on Exchange server and mails are downloaded and syn'd to my laptop.
Trying to do the export from my laptop.

Running XP Pro and Office 2003.
Any help appreciated.
Regards
Trish

Quick and dirty method:

1. Put all the items you want to export in one folder.
2. Use a table view to display all the data fields that you want to export .
3. Choose Edit | Select All.
4. Choose Edit | Copy.
5. Paste to Excel.

If some of the fields are multi-line, see Eric Legault's handy tip for an Excel formula to break up the lines -- http://blogs.officezealot.com/legault/archive/2005/04/08/4502.aspx

Thanks Sue,
I actually took the macro example you wrote out for someone else, adapted it
a little (was writing to one line only) and used that successfully. Too many
items to use the quick and dirty method with, afraid.
However, I do find it strange that the date field is not available for
export - it is a key data field when it comes to business correspondence.
Maybe the boffins at MS can look into that with time.

Thanks for your assistence,
Trish
