exporting data to a different database

Over the last several days I have had to run an append query twice for the
data to get moved. I did not create this append query but I have checked it
against an earlier copy of the database and it still looks the same. I was
just wondering if anybody knew what might cause this type of issue? Access
2003....

I think I have found my own answer - I found another user was in the database
searching for records within the table I was trying to append......
