Export-Import

I successfully exported an Outlook contacts as a personal pst file. However,
when I try to import this file in Outlook on my new computer, I get a
message that I am not authorized to open this file. Any way around this or
to produce an "authorized" file?

Did you already copy the pst-file back to the computer first? The Desktop
will do.
Then from within Outlook connect to it via File-> Open-> Outlook Data
File... and move the items to the location you want.

I tried placing the Contacts.pst file on the desktop, then File > Open >
Contacts.pst but nothing happens. the contacts are not added to Outlook.
Thanks for the prompt advice. Am I doing something wrong?

The contacts won't show in the folders pane - they will be in the
Contacts pane. I got fooled by that one at first...

I can't find the contacts. I also tried importing the Calendar.pst file into
Outlook. It failed to import or open.

I finally got the data imported to my new computer. To import the Contacts I
had to export from my old computer to a CSV file. Outlook would not import a
Contacts.pst file--but the comma-delimtited file worked like a charm.

As posted here many times - you don't need to export in the first place
unless you are on an Exchange Server...
Read these for the correct way to transfer data from one Outlook to
another...
