EXPORT FILES IN OUTLOOK, FORMAT CHANGES WHEN VIEWED ON LAPTOP WHY

I wish to export my files in Outlook to my lap top. I have downloaded them
onto a mobile hard drive in the OFFICE DATE FILE format. But when i go to
look at them on the mobile hard drive on my Lap top they have changed format
and the ODF logo has changed, and they will not be downloaded/imported.
But looking at the logos in the mobile hard drive on my main machine it is
ok. Why do can they not be viewed and imported from this hard drive, why is
the format changing.
Would love any help. Many thanks

You "downloaded" them how? Be precise.
What is their file extension?
Outlook data files can only be opened from within Outlook using the File >
Open > Outlook Data File... command.
Never import them.

Why? Just copy your PST (with Outlook closed, of course) to the laptop.

The icon means nothing. As long as the file type is still ".pst", there
shouldn't be a problem.
