Export Distribution List to Excel for Labels

C

Cate

Hi,

I am trying to find an easy way to export a distribution list into excel,
including mailing addresses. I am looking to make address labels out of part
of my database (which is divided into a distribution list)... if you know of
an easier way, I'm open to suggestions!

Thank you!

DL's contain no postal addresses. What makes you think you could use a DL
for this?

Not sure. I'm new to Outlook... sorry I don't know all of the in's & out's.
Basically, I'm trying to create a "group" (which is already set up as a
distribution list), that I can update (add any new members) & export on a
monthly basis for mailing labels. Again, if there is a better way to do
this, I am open to suggestions.

Thanks,

Sorry! I am new to Outlook and don't know all of the in's & out's.
Basically, I'm trying to create a "group" of contacts (which is already set
up in a distribution list) that I can update (add new members) and export
monthly into excel to convert into mailing labels. Again, if you have any
better suggestions on how to go about this, I am open to ideas.

Thanks,

No need to export to anything. If your Outlook version uses Categories (2003
and 2007) create a category instead of a distribution list. Then once a
month select the category, and do a mail-merge to labels. It's as easy as
that. And FAR easier to administer.

You can only merge to your Contacts, not to a DL. You can filter or group
your Contacts in any way you wish, then start the merge from Outlook to the
the Contacts you've selected.
