export access database into quickbooks

Hello,
I work for a nonprofit organization, and they just received a copy of
Quickbooks. Now they have a contact/address list which stored in a Access
Database. Is there a way to export the data from Access so that I can import
it into Quickbooks?

Some method not too difficult. Thanks
Samah

You can export your contacts to Excel by using: Tools ... Office Links ...
Analyze with Excel. That file can be imported into QuickBooks by choosing:
File ... Import on the menu and mapping the fields by following the
QuickBooks wizard.

Quickbooks uses iif files to import data into it. These files are tab
delimited text files with various layouts/fields depending on the data
being imported. You should check the Quickbooks website for sample iif
files so you can understand the proper format to prepare the data to be
exported from Access and imported into QB. It is very easy to create a
tab delimited text file in Access. Just create a query that lists the
fields in Access that you want to import into QB. Right click on that
query's name after you save it and select export. Choose text as the
format of the file to be saved and make the appropriate selections in
the ensuing Export Text Wizard dialog boxes (tab delimited, no Text
Qualifier, etc.). You'll have to save this file with a txt extension or
Access will error out. After you save it, you can rename it to change
the txt extension to an iif extension before importing it into QB. Hope
this helps and good luck.
