When I open Explorer it shows "My Computer with the plus sign o the left

I can also get to Explorer through the Start Button (right click) Explore
All Users. But here Exploirer opens already expanded

My Computer/Documents & Settings/All Users/ all the way to my UserName

How can you control the expansion of Explorer? i.e. if I want it to open
expanded to, say, MY (own) Favourites?

Thanks

Peter

Thanks Mark

But that does not seem to apply to XP.

And from what I gather you use the command from the Start\Run command. Does
that set Explorer for ever? or just for that particular command?

Thanks

Peter

It works in XP
Here is a better version, I been using that other for a long time now
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;307856

Yes it works from the command line
However you can create shortcuts that have the command line in them
eg right click the desktop--select New--Shortcut
put the command in the first box, and a name in the 2nd one

The bottom of the article above explains how to set it for all instances of
explorer
