Explorer won't recoginze disk in CDRW

darren

I thought maybe something was wrong with my drive, so I bought a new one and
it does the same thing.

It recognizes it as a CDRW, but when I go to "Write these files to CD"
it keeps telling me there is no disk in the drive.

All other burning utils work fine.
SmartBurn recognizes the disk.

It is a Lite-on SOHR-5238S.

Thanks

I can guarantee if you remove all 3rd party burning apps, then the Windows
Explorer and Windows CD writing application will work.

So which do you want?

Make the decision and live with the consequences.

Hi,

When you install some 3rd party burning softwares, the IMAPI burning service
in win XP may be disabled. It is to avoid the possibilty of software
conflicts.
You can run msconfig and check the service tab to confirm this.
To restart the service, right click My Computer/Manage/Services and
Applications/Services, navigate to IMAPI CD-burning Com Surface and double
click(left), change the startup type to automatic and click the start button.
Change back to manual if it has conflicts with other burning softwares.

Hope it helps.

Sorry, typing error.
The IMAPI CD-burning Com Surface should be IMAPI CD-burning Com Service.
