Explorer won't open maximized

Just recently Windows Explorer stopped opening maximized to full
screen. It only opens to about three fourths full screen and I have
to click the upper right full screen button to get it to full screen.
It just started doing this within the past week. I did notice also
that IE does the same thing, however if I maximize IE then close it
and open Windows Explorer it opens full screen. Are there any
settings that I can change to make both IE and Windows Explorer open
maximized to full screen? TIA

Drag the corner handle of the window in IE until it's full size. Next time
it should open jull size..
