Explorer window size does not remember it's location after reboot

Any ideas on how to fix this issue? Everytime I reboot the windows explorer
forgets it's default size. It's a real pain in the rear to keep resizing
it. Secondly is it possible to make windows explorer open to C drive? I
hate opening my documents folder as root folder.. I always changed it in XP.

Use Folder Options in Control Panel (Classic). Under the View options
make sure the "Remember each folder's view settings" is checked.
*Sometimes it helps after customizing a window to close the window
while holding down the Shift Key.

Modify the Explorer shortcut to include /n, /e, C:

Remembering settings in folder options will not have any particular effect
on explorer **window size in my experience, not will regedits to increase
these settings to 8000 folders in Vista or XP in my experience. It will
impact folder organization though whether view is list, tiles, etc.

What does help for me for both explorer and IE window size but is not
perfect at all times, is to manually resize the folder and the close down
holding the Ctrl key down. IE windows are often impacted by pop unders
behind the scenes.

This is the most annoying bug in Vista. If you have to use the browse
button.. there goes your remembered windows explorer setting.. can't M$ fix
a simple stupid bug like this? Damn what they spending all their money on
in Vista? This bug was just about gone in XP and it's back in Vista even
worse.
