explorer will not search for sites

when typing a word in the address bar explorer just shows
a page cannot be found screen instead of listing matching
sites,, will only goto a site if the full site address is
entered

I have been having the problem with the address bar search trying to open the URL
http:///? Search whatever whatever
and giving me the page not found error. I finally located a fix that worked for me on another forum. Here it is if you are having the same problem
Run "Hijack This" and check the box for the following entry if it is found
R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - _{CFBFAE00-17A6-11D0-99CB-00C04FD64497} - (no file
Close any open browsers and click FIX
Open your browser and try your address bar search function
