explorer will not run

upgraded from winMe to XP, not a problem. IE ran slow or
hung up times but now it will not even load. icon on
desktop and taskbar disapear and come back after a two
seconds. looks like a reboot of desktop. can not open
window explorer, control panel the same thing whappens.
have run virus scan and spy-bot nothing found. clean.
have all the updates as of today. Soooo whats next???

I don't know what's causing IE to hangup, but you might consider doing
a backup of your data and re-install XP, but this time do a clean
install. Use the ME CD as proof for the upgrade. Of course you'll
have to install all your programs again - but this will probably be
better anyway.

ALSO: I hope Charter has a good virus and spam filter..... NEVER
post your real E-Mail address in a public forum like this one as it
will be harvested by spam mail robots.
