Explorer shutting down PC

Nick Humphries

Having some problems with my internet last night. Whilst
browsing kept coming up with the following messages and
then shutting itself (including the computer) down.

"Generic Host Process for Win32 has encountered
problem", "System shutdown - Windows must now restart
because Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service terminated
inexpectedly".

I deleted all the old cookies, cleared the browser history
and upped the privacy and securacy settings and I think
its made a difference. Although it now doesn't let me
search some sites, it was ok for the 10 minutes or so I
went on it afterwards. Have you ever had anything like
this happen??

I had the same problem last night also. I have cleared
the cookies and browser history but no change, is this
some sort of new virus attack?
I have had some advice from my IT support team at work
and they recommend that you run service pack 1 on your
system after running CHKDSK. I will try that when i
retrun home and update if i have any joy.
