Explorer Search will not start

When I select search by right clicking in explorer, my firewall asks me if I
want to let Explorer access the internet, so I select no, then I get the
error message "There was a proglem sending the command to the program" and
the search box does not show up. I don't want explorer accessing the
internet during a search of my hard drive. But I do want may search function
back.

I'm running Win XP SP2. EZ Firewall, and have Windows Firewall disabled.

Ramesh; The site http://windowsxp.mvps.org/zonealarmerror.htm states that I
could enable Windows Explorer for the Trusted Zone only and not the Internet.
On my system with EZ Firewall that does not work. I have set it up to allow
trusted zone and block internet, allow server of trusted zone and block
server of internet, and I still get the error message.

I really do not want Windows Explorer accessing the Internet when I perform
a search of my local hard drive. I don't understand why it would do so,
unless someone is trying to look at my system or record my work without my
permision.

Why would Microsoft program explorer to try and access the internet when I
search my hard drive? Don't they have enough stuff coming in to look at that
they need to know that I'm performing a search function. Doesn't all these
messages just clog up the internet?

I was able to get search to work, though Explorere is not enableed to access
the internet, by deselecting "Automatically search for network files and
printers", in the Tools, Folder Options, View Tab, under Explorer.

Excellent! Point duly noted, and will test in my systems here.
