Explorer has caused an error in user.exe.

Rick

I am running Windows Me on a 2Ghz computer with 500mb ram.
I have all the latest upgrades and patches for Internet
Explorer 6.

Every once-in-a-while I receive a message saying:

Windows Explorer has caused an error in User.exe.

Explorer then shuts down. Any Ideas for a remedy for this
problem??

Thanks

Rick

Hi there Rick,

USER.EXE errors are virtually always related to video drivers. Try updating
your video drivers. Also, reducing hardware acceleration at control panel,
display, settings, advanced, performance may assist in stabilising your
system. Also, try changing the video mode for number of colors to 256
colors - sometimes 32-bit mode or true-color mode can cause problems.
