I also have a machine on our network running XP Pro which crashes any time
the user tries to open an Explorer window (including My Computer, Control
Panel, Windows Explorer, etc.). He can open Internet Explorer and type c:\
in the address bar and access the drive that way. The computer runs
exceptionally aside from this problem, so it isn't a hardware issue. Here is
the error message from the event viewer:
Faulting application explorer.exe, version 6.0.2800.1221, faulting module
wininet.dll, version 6.0.2800.1106, fault address 0x0001dc15.
This is not a digital camera issue as linked to in the last post. The user
has no camera software installed on the machine, and does not use a digital
camera with the machine. This problem has been occuring for about two weeks
and I cannot find any info through Google. Any help would be appreciated.
