Explorer hangs when opened

Windows Explorer opens, but no information is visable for
approx. 30 seconds. Checking through task list
shows, "Not responding" However if given these 30 seconds
the Windows explorere will find all drives and show them.
Is there a way to speed this up? This only happens one a
few pc's.
 
Do you have any mapped driver or external storage devices offline or not
available?
Try removing them as a test.
