Explorer Hacked

Ron

Somehow my browser has been attacked and it has an
advertisement bar in it that I can not get rid of. The bar
advertises Mirmar something and has a link to a site that I
will not attempt to go to right now. When I startup my
browser it pops up some porn popups and other junk
including Ebay. Then my yahoo web page comes up and has an
advertisement for some cleanup type software site.
Curious, I may have pulled a Trojan horse when I downloaded
some freeware for some ZIP software. I tried to remove IE6
and then reload but it comes up with the same junk.
Anybody out there that can help or send me instructions on
completely removing the IE6 and reload clean would really
be appreciated. I guess I could reinstall my operating
system (XP Pro) but I would rather do that as a last resort.

Thanks

Ron,

Using ToolbarCop to remove the unwanted Toolband, Toolbar Icons and BHO:

Download Ad-Aware from www.lavasoftusa.com, scan the system and eliminate the malware products. Update the pattern file using WebUpdate in Ad-Aware*
