Explorer freeze on (empty) folder delete

When deleting empty folders from explorer,it will sometimes
(unpredicatbly) freeze for a long time (several minutes) so I usually
have to kill it. I uninstalled Ghost, disabled NAV... etc. W2K SP4
with all the updates. Where can I look to find the problem? Thanks.
