Not a good idea. Provided that you can access Windows, install this
optional WinXP update, replacing Explorer.exe among other files: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/884883/en-us
Note that replacing an infected file does *not* clean a compromised
system.
I keep scanning my PC with adware and anti-virus program at the moment.
