my explorer.exe has stopped working and I can't get it to start again, have
tried starting it in task manager with no success, please help........

Make sure you kill the existing processes Explorer.exe before you
start another one. I run into a hung Explorer just about every
day and killing all existing Explorer.exe processes before
starting a new one has never failed me.

As well, sometimes when you think Explorer has "stopped working",
often the real problem is garbage apps like IE, OE, etc., that
has no business being the least bit integrated into the OS.
Often just closing and restarting something like IE will make
your problem with Explorer clear up.
 
Sorry Rob, forgot to say thatwhen I boot up and log in I get a blank screen,
thats when I go ctrl>alt>del and access task manager but other than that I
cant do anything on the pc, I kill explorer and then restart it but nothing
happens........very weird.
