Explorer.exe takes 100% cpu cant open any folder

when ever i double click on my computer to open explorer
or use windows explorer to browse through my hard drive.
My Cpu usage goes upto 100% and i computer gets hang .
my explorer.exe is taking 100% of my cpu .
Any fix or help will be apreciated

Try going to C:\Windows\Prefetch folder and emptying it out.
