Explorer.exe refreshing?

A couple of times lately while listening to streaming radio with
Media Player 9 All of a sudden my task panel will disappear for a few seconds
and then it re-appears, and everything appears normal except my system tray
loses several icons, though they all seem fine. For instance my internet
connection icon(CDMA connection) will be gone and the software compression
icon that accompanies it will be gone though everything is working
fine(nothing in event viewer),also my Earthlink tray icon is gone and some
others. I have to reboot to get them back......any ideas?
