When winXP boots the taskbar takes approx 15 min to
appear. This only happens when I reboot the machine. Once
the taskbar has appeared I can logoff and logon and it
loads normally. If I shutdown before the taskbar has
loaded a window appears to end explorer.exe. Other than
this, the OS seems to be fully loaded, desktop icons are
active, apps are available and no proccessor cycles are
being used(as far as I can tell). One by one I have
prevented all apps from starting in msconfig, disabled the
background intelligent transfer service(as suggested in
another forum), uninstalled several suspect programs, and
did a repair of the installation. All to no avail. Any
suggestions short of doing a clean install?
