hey all,

whenever i click on a html file or a word document file
etc etc, im pretty sure its when the preview goes to come
up, explorer.exe crashes.

whenever i go to open the display properties, rundll32.exe
crashes.

I am runing windows 2000 pro, i tryed updating to SP4 to
try and fix the problem with no success. also i just
reformated 2 day ago, dont want ot have to do it again.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

thanks

Brendan

Looks like a hack and inbound has your I.P. and has been through a port
before, but is not necessarily true. If you just did a Clean install and do
not have adequate protection to keep it out, then you could have the same
happen, without the plugs that are needed from Microsoft, and others like
Zone Alarm, for example. ZA has a breech that would leave it as open to a
particular entry as not having any firewall. As far as we are concerned, a
little more information woul be helpful.

good computing,

Check if your computer has the swen virus. I was fighting
win one with similar symphtoms...

I installed a virus scanner and found 8 viruses, none
infected any windows files, they have been removed. i
installed Zonealarm and have had it running for the last 4-
5 hours and nothing has tryed to get in or out. So im
thinking now it could be a conflict between something.

Explorer.exe and rundll32.exe are still crashing. as i
have found it is only happens when a document preview and
when i open the display properties.

Would another format and reinstall fix it?

SP4 is installed and i am now searching though microsoft
support again for any fixes.

Anyone have any other idea on how to fix this??
