Explorer crashing quite frequently

Greetings MVPs,

The process explorer.exe keeps crashing and I always get this "Send
report to Microsoft" window coming up halfway thru my work. What could
go wrong?
I restart my computer each time I face this problem but it happens
again.

Could you people point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance.
 
Disable any third party components from explorer.exe and internet explorer
using autoruns from sysinternals, check after reboot if the problem still
persists. Ensure you have the latest critical updates installed on the box.
