Explorer button to toggle Show/Hide hidden files?

Just wondering if anyone knows of a utility that will add a toggle button to
the Windows Explorer that will Show and Hide hidden files?

I tried Google, but only got about a billion pages explaining how to do it
through the Tools menu.

Hi,
Well there are softwares which restrict access to files by displaying
messages like "Access Denied" FolderLock is a cool program..I'm not sure I
think Magic Folder is what ur looking far remember having used about 4yrs

Hi Noozer,

This won't add a button to Windows Explorer, but will, rather, add
"Show/Hide System Files" to your context menu when you right-click on a
folder:

http://herby.virtualplastic.net/sysfiles.htm

I use it , and find it a pretty handy alternative to drudging through the
Tools menu.

Hope this helps,
Dean

Yes, I should have made that clear, the script toggles "Show hidden files or
folders" AND "Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)" in one
co-ordinated fell swoop (which I like). But, as you say, you can edit the
script to do only one or the other, as well. Likewise, you can have the
context menu say whatever you like by editing Add SuperHidden.reg, or skip
the context menu altogether and just double-click on the .vbs file (which may
require you to refresh a folder if the script isn't in that folder).
