Downloaded Explorer 7 , started it, when prompted.
But nothing changed or happened , shouldn't my home page change ??

I am running slower though, and some windows programs are NOT responding .
Any thoughts would be appreciated .

hi OM,

What version of Windows XP (home or Pro) SP1 or SP2 are you running on your
system?

When you say nothing changed, do you mean the look and feel of IE 7
browser - didn't change from IE6?

Which programs aren't responding?

I had a similar experience with running the IE7 upgrade, only I'm on a DSL
connection. My problem was more with my installation of Pro Sp2 than IE7
upgrade. Even so - I uninstalled IE7, to see if I could get the problem(s)
straightened out with XP before attempting a reinstall of IE7. In the
process, I wound up borking my
XP installation, and had to do a "repair install"

If your PC performed better with IE 6, then my suggestion would be to
Uninstall IE7. If you want a browser with a look and feel of IE7 there
are two really good choices on line that are freeware: Avant browser is
one, and Mozilla Firefox is the other.

Good luck.

You may have a horked install of IE7. I suggest that you...

1. Uninstall IE7 (which automatically returns you to IE6) per
http://www.ie-vista.com/kbase2.html

2. Uninstall all toolbars

3. Reinstall IE7 per http://www.ie-vista.com/known_issues.html#pre-install,
and using http://www.microsoft.com/windows/downloads/default.mspx as the
installation source, not Automatic/Windows Update.
