Explorer 6 browser recognition

I have a new computer, Window XP preinstalled with
Internet Explorer 6, and AOL8, plus Norton security with
firewall.

Some web sites, including some Microsoft's, do not
recognize I have Explorer 6 (the message says I need
Explorer 4 version or higher), and sometimes a Microsoft
site will tell me I need a Windows' environment to proceed!

No one has been able to help. any ideas? Thanks

Make sure you have the latest version for IE 6

.thanks, but I do have the latest verson of Explorer 6

The only other suggestion I have would be to check all
your security settings in> Tools>internet options.Also
check to see what you have checked in the advanced
tab.Maybe check settings on computer with no problems.
