Explore.exe switches

Hello.

In Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 130510, the switches that can be used
with expleror.exe are described.

On my system, if I look in the registry, a call to explorer is made with
this series of switches:

%SystemRoot%\Explorer.exe /e,/idlist,%I,%L

What are is /idlist, and what do %I and %L stand for? They weren't listed in
the knowledge base article.

Thanks for your response.

Hi

/idlist and %I is "matched" together, /idlist is used to open a
subfolder based on the folder's Unique ID (held in the %I variable).

More about this here:

%L means "Long filename" (no 8.3 representation)
