exe problems. Cannot start programs

Hi!
I `m having problems opening programs like Words, Wind.Mediaplayer and so on.
everytime i get a massage " Can not find C:\programfiles.......exe.
I ve heard that it could be a W32/sircam virus, but i dont think it is.
I know i recently deleted all files on Temporary Internet Files. Could this
be the reason?
what shall i do?
