.exe files

I want to download some software, such as spybot, but Windows Fila
Association interrupts and says I need help or software. Why is this and how
can I complete the download? I have Vista Home Premium.

Mac, thanks for that, but it's all mumbo jumbo to me. I didn't have this
problem with XP. Is there a layman's solution to opening .exe and .reg files?
