Hi!

I remember using Lavasoft's Ad-Aware on a Windows XP. It did something that
I would like to recreate.
It complained that it could not remove certain files and processes because
they were locked. So it suggested to remove it after a reboot.

And now it comes:
It started itself after the graphical environment (display gets blue) but
BEFORE the welcome screen appeared and therefore BEFORE anybody logged in.
That way it had exclusive access to the hard-drive and no other processes
interfering with its operations.

So does anybody know how I could start a GUI-program like that?

Thanks,
Tobi

You can't. It's not running Windows programs but NT programs. They are undocumented except to AV companies and the like.

so, nobody every hijacked them? what's up with you guys? ;o)

You can write an NT native program (text mode). But windows isn't loaded yet. Only NT. So you can't run a window program. Windows runs on top of the NT Operating System.
