Diskscan wont operate with the "fix errors" box checked, "because the volume
is in use by another process". The error message appears with other disk
repair programs. After reading some Q&A on the subject I did a selective
startup, a sys restore, and a chkdsk restart, but these didnt work. I'm also
informed the FAT32 file system is a non-NTFS, and that I should fix the
error(s) before defragging......This "exclusive access" problem is a common
one, with easy fixes, but THIS time nothing easy seems to be working.... Any
ideas?

Hi there :-)

umm in XP when you go to do a scandisk
it tells you you cant while windows is running
then asks if you would like to run it next time you
restart if you click yes then restart it will
automatically scan for you on restart then you can defrag
away :-)
