Hello,

I am in the process of installing Exchange 2003 Cluster on a Windows 2000. I
understand this is a supported configuration, but I was wondering if there
are known issues with this configuration.

Thanks,
TMS

There are a couple of gotcha's that we found while installing 2003 in a lab.
One is to make sure that the cluster service account needs to be explicitly
added to the local Admins group. It's not enough for it to be part of a
domain group that is in the local Admins group.

The docs also stated that failover is supposed to be faster with E2K3, but I
found that it was 10% slower with E2K3 on Win2K. After upgrading the nodes
to Win2K3, then failover times were much faster and were basically cut in
half.

Good luck.

Thank you for sharing your experience with me, it is greatly appreciated. I
would agree that most likely you would get better performance installing
Exchange 2003 on Windows 2003 but due to hardware support limitation I have
to go this route.

Thank you again,
TMS
