i have noticed that outlook 2007 has been taking longer and longer to open.
yesterday a dialog window opened and reported that i had 1754 reminders.
somehow i think this is a bit on the excessive side considering the number
should have been around zero. is something on by default??? any help
resolving this is appreciated. XP pro, Office 2007, BCM, SBA 2007, my ISP is
Comcast, my AV is NOD32

Could be because you never dismissed them? Either way you can press Dismiss
All and they are set to 0. Loading should go a lot faster then too.

two more parts to this question. (1) why did it wait to notify me until there
were 1754 reminders and (2) can this be toggled "off" and how to do so

Hard to tell without any details but it could be that the reminder
functionality never worked on your computer due to an issue in your previous
configuration. This would have accumulated all the non-dismissed reminders.
The upgrade to Outlook 2007 might have cured this issue and of course
prompts you with all these non-dismissed reminders. Building that initial
list sure would take up some resources and time to aggregate.

Dismiss them all and you should be fine. If you don't want any reminders in
the future don't configure them when creating your calendar or task item ;-)

I have dismissed my 35 reminders several time but they keep re-appearing
each day.

How can I get rid of them permanently.
Some are very old.
I have outlook 2007. I purchased an upgrade 1 month ago. I did not have this
problem with 2003 outlook.
