Excessive noise from mouse

Hello all,
Please forgive if this topic has been covered previously. When sound is on,
mouse makes annoying buzzing noises when moved around. Keyboard also,
particularly backspace button. Any simple fixes? I have read that
integrated soundcards are the culprit? Any help would be appreciated. We
like listening to music so sound and speakers usually are on.

Install a souncard and disable onboard chipset. You even gave yourself the
answer.

I have seen this happen once when the analog audio cable from the CDROM
drive to the motherboard was pinched between the motherboard and the video
card. In a quest for neatness someone had run the cable underneath the video
card between the back of the computer and the AGP slot. Removing the cable
solved the problem as the cable is not really needed in most systems. By
default Windows XP uses digital sound.

Is this a cordless mouse? Make sure the microphone input is off on your
sound system. Could be picking up noise.

I have the same problem. What I found is that by turning down the
phone volume in the Volume Control panel (or set it to Mute) the noise
goes away. I hope this helps.
