Excessive Floppy disk drive activity

I have a problem with my fd, it works but windows checks
the drive every time that I open a folder on C drive or
any drive for that matter and when accessing web pages.
It's very annoying and is unnecessary wear and tear. Does
anyone know what setting in what file needs to be changed
to stop this unnecessary A drive activity?
 
Hey Bruce,

This might work.

Right click on the start button and select properties.

Select the start menu tab and click customize, then advanced

Under Recent Documents, click Clear List.
