Excess vertical space between unbound subreports

I have sucessfully combined two subreports on an unbound main report (and
plan to add three more subreports) but the final product has too much "white
space" between the end of the first and the beginning of the second. I have
condensed all groups down to zero (or to the smallest value that will be
tolerated for the 8 pt font). It looks as if there is built-in space in one
of the footers since the space shows up below the printed summary values on
the first subreport.
Any suggestions? Many thanks.

Make sure there is no blank areas at the bottom of any of
the subreport' sections.

On the main report, make sure there is vey little space
between the subreports and that each subreport control and
their main report section all have the CanShrink property
set to Yes. Also make sure there are no other controls,
lines, etc. beside the subreports that has its top above the
bottom of one subreport and its bottom below the top of the
next subreport

Again my thanks. A new question is being posted today.
