Help, I've been getting an error message every few minutes -

Windows - Drive Not Ready
Windows - drive not ready Exception Processing Message c00000a3 Parameters

<Cancel> <Try Again> <Continue>

This has been happening for quite a few months now, I use AVG, Spybot,
Ad-Aware. It seems to start coming on as soon as I put a CD or DVD in the CD
or the DVD drives. After that, it keeps coming on every little bit until the
drive has not been opened for an hour or so??? I just got an external DVD
drive and plugged it into the USB port. I've been backing up info on DVDs,
and the message has come on every 30 seconds or so. It's very irritating! I
keep hitting any of the three buttons that come on, but the same results - it
comes up again in a little bit.

I've tried to find this particular message on the web, but there are very
few responses. I'm not sure of the language of the error message, most
others I find say c0000013 instead of c00000a3. Will the same types of fixes
work? What is causing this! I'm getting desperate.

Thanks!

Hi, got the same prob....but my anti-virus prog blocked an unknown virus
COMUSTUIDLL.EXE.

solution:
Go to start run, and type regedit, and search the entire registry for
COMUSTUIDLL.EXE and Delete all, Then go to
%systemroot%\windows\system32\COMUSTUIDLL.EXE and delete it there also!

Reboot pc,

Should be gone...!

for any other queries mail me on (e-mail address removed)

Just go into device manager and disable the floppy drive. I got that tip
from another forum and it sorted me out.

I get the same thing only I get it from my DVD Drive (not USB) OR my USB
Printer. Timing nd frequency same as original message. Device manager hangs
up when I try to disable floppy drive.

I had the same problem and followed your directions. Too early to tell yet if
it will come back. Do we know what COMUSTUIDLL.EXE is?

Thanks...

This comes up every time it seems that my system is being challenged or over
extended. I found that my ( CD-ROM ), (CD-RW): drivers were crowded in
(driver detail) by other drivers from another application. I then found a
driver that
was some how pulling the resources from my cd drivers and giving the memory
to the application. (C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\cbidf2k.old ) This is the
driver and it's path, I found that this driver was loaded at the same time
as the application I found dragging my system recourses from my cd-rom
drivers. I just changed
(cbidf2k.sys) to (cbidf2k.old), I have no more broblems with this exception
error.

Hi,

I had the same problem in my computer. I disabled the floppy drive from BIOS
& then then the problem solved. Try it out..

diskettedrevet i enhedshåndteringen, forsvandt såvel A-drevet i stifinderen
som fejlmeddelelsen fra den anden computer.
Dette kan måske inspirere?

I checked a number of forums where they suggested changing drive letters,
removing code from the registry, or disabling the floppy in the bios.
Now I'm no expert with this stuff but it seemed to me that there was no
virus causing this error, but users using external devices (USB, camera smart
cards, etc) prior to this error occurring.

Bad When I run “one-click maintenance†(Tuneup Utilities 2008) I
always get this error.
Good It is repeatable, so an easy way to check to see if a solution
works.

Assuming this was an error injected by an external device, I simply clicked
:Safely Remove external device (whatever letter it was assigned). There was
no device connected but it showed a USB drive active. I highlighted and
clicked okay and the drive message was, “it is safe to remove the device.â€
Once this was accomplished all exception errors stopped.
I have noticed in the past that adding or removing temporary hardware
doesn’t always work like it should, meaning it says it is removed but it
isn’t.
Hope you get the same results.
