EXCELL?????

Omer

Hi,

Is Excell the best applicaiton for this??

I have an excell file that employees enter data into. How
can I setup six users with six passwords, such that
everytime an employee (logs in) to enters data into the
excell file, their login gets recorded besides the data
they entered.

Also, such that no other employee can change another
employees results

Thanks a bunch
Omer

Not at all the best application. The best thing in those cases is to keep the data way out of reach, preferrably on a database file
on a remote server, and have a programmed front-end to take care of the logic and the transport. The front-end could be an excelfile
with forms and macros, a ditto in Word or Outlook or Access, or a dedicated custom program.

Your desired actions can definitely be done in Excel using macros. But Excel is not safe, and you can not guarantee that things are
unaccessible in it.

Another solution might be to make one separate Excel file for each employee. Then you just have to consolidate them once in a
while -which can be tricky enough.
