Excel4 Macros. Dangers?

I understand that although backward compatibility is attempted, it is
nevertheless considered dangerous practice to use Excel 4 macros in current
versions of Excel. Can someone please give me a general idea of the nature
of the problems? Or are they too diverse?

Hi
if you try to copy the cell which contains a reference to one of these
macros Excel may shut down. Excel 2003 seems to have fixed this error.
