Excel2000-portrait page number on a landscape page

I am typing my thesis. I have a few Excel pages that I
have set up as landscape. University formatting requires
the page numbers to be consistently placed in the printed
hardcopy. Therefore, I need to put a portrait page number
on a landscape page.Is this possible?
