Excel workbook size

Which kind of cell contents are the most space consuming: numbers, text or
formulas?

Does long, complicated formulaes allocate more space than simple formulaes?

Is it wise to store formulaes as names in order to save space?

How does cell formatting affect the needed size?

I have a workbook of 43 MB. What´s the "limit" of the size for practical
matters?

Håvard,

I suggest having a thorough review of the following site:
http://www.decisionmodels.com/

In particular, have a look at this page:
http://www.decisionmodels.com/memlimitsc.htm

I hope that helps.

Best regards,
Kevin

H,

In addition to my earlier comments, if you have VBA code, you should
download Rob Bovey's VBA code cleaner. You can find it here:
http://www.appspro.com/utilities/Cleaner.asp

Often that running the code cleaner will signficantly reduce your file size.

Best regards
Kevin
