Excel wont load - Help!

I just put Office 2002 back on my system, and all the apps load, but
excel. I tried loading it, then it wants to try in safe mode, then
detect / repair mode, but it doesnt load. I tried a complete
reinstall, no go.

I am running winxp, and read microsofts website on trouble shooting.
Nothing has worked, I deleted temp files, tried to load it in windows
xp safe mode, nothing works.

Any ideas please?
 
I don't have any good idea, but when you write that you tried to load excel,
does that mean you were installing from the CD or just trying to start the
application? (Maybe it'll help someone (else) diagnose the problem.)

I think my next step in either case would be to remove excel (all of office???)
and reinstall from the CD.

(defrag the harddrive, too????)
 
I did a complete office install
All other aps load, and when I click excel, says gathering info, and
doesnt load. Then it wants to load in safe mode if i try again, then
when i try a 3rd time, it wants detect/repair.
Nothing opens the program though
 
You said you did a complete reinstall in your original message. But did you
uninstall office first?

Windows Start Button|Settings|Control Panel|Add remove programs

I don't know if it'll help, but it shouldn't hurt much.
