Excel using Mac - Freeze Panes

C

Curious

I use a Mac but have used Office extensively on DOS & Windows. The "Freeze
Panes" function was always great to use but in the Mac spreadsheet I'm using
it is not available as a selection. Is there something wrong with the way I
am using it, or is it just not available in the Mac version?

This is primarily a Windows population here and also, there are several
Mac versions. But to answer your question, have you tried looking up
"Freeze Panes" in Help?

I have, but the only relevant hit is to show where it appears on the Window
menu. It doesn't find any help on using it. The other hits are primarily
focused on what to do if the program freezes.

If you don't get any additional responses here, you could pose your
question over in the microsoft.public.mac.office.excel newsgroup. they
should know.

I found the answer. The files opened in Page Layout view and the Freeze
Panes feature is only available in Normal view.
